  We visited to attend a family event between Christmas and New Year, and were delighted to find a beautifully restored Tybee Island cottage with period inspired Christmas decorations.   wifey's birthday weekend trip to Tybee Island GA was one of the most relaxing and peaceful weekends we have enjoyed lately. This cottage was perfect for us. A short walk (4 or 5 blocks) to beach area, dinning and entertainment. It had all amentities we needed from books and movies to any kitchen item we may need. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We are typically an "on the go" couple exploring the area, dinning and shopping. Not this weekend, the screened in porch turned out to be our favorite spot of the weekend. We spent a lot of time, just relaxing on the porch. The owner was fantastic. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay. Our next trip to the island will definitely include a stay at one of the Mermaid Cottage properties.

  ‘A Little Salty’ Cottage was just the ticket for our first ever trip to Tybee. From the moment we walked in, we felt totally at home. The cottage is so quaint and comfortable. It was VERY clean and well stocked with everything we needed (and then some). We all (especially our two basset hounds) loved the screened in porch. The yard was helpful for “last call” with the pups, but the rest of the weekend we walked them all over the island. Fun was had by all! Our only feedback is that it’s time for a new king mattress, because the existing one isn’t very comfortable. The Queen mattress was awesome, though.
  
  Mermaid Cottages was fantastic, too! Great communication throughout the process and we really appreciated the heads up on the St. Patty’s activities on the Tybee. It helped us avoid a huge traffic tie up. Loved the small touches from the Mermaids, too!
  
  We’ve definitely found our home away from home on Tybee Island & we’ll be back!

  Rented A Little Salty for several weeks so we had ample time to get accustomed to the cottage. The pictures and description on Mermaid’s website were spot on... no surprises or disappointments when we arrived. It was very clean and well appointed. Kitchen was adequately equipped and had everything we needed to prep meals. Since we began dealing with the staff at Mermaid Cottages, we have been very impressed with their friendliness and fantastic customer service. It was reassuring to know if anything went awry, they would be there to help. We loved the Back River location of this cottage. It was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. The Alley 3 kayak put in was a few hundred yards from our door. The little beach there was always empty (Jan/Feb) and a great place to read or enjoy sunsets.. The large “L” shaped screen porch was a perfect spot to relax after a full day of Tybee fun. We would recommend A Little Salty to anyone wanting a cozy cottage in a peaceful location.

  Mom, daughter, and granddaughter annual outing is always much anticipated. We have stayed on Tybee Island several times now and always with Mermaid Cottages. A Little Salty was perfect! The wrap around porch was wonderful to sit out and enjoy the ocean breeze. The property was very clean and decorated in a beautiful beach theme. We had fresh flowers on the table and soft music playing as we entered. Granddaughter's 21st birthday was celebrated...Mermaid had banner, card, and a little bubbly to make her day special. Walks on the beach and pier, eating at our now favorite spots, shopping, and of course ice cream make this a favorite retreat for us. I would 100% recommend this cottage thru Mermaid Cottages.   Just what I needed! Relax and rest. Small house. Great screened in porch. Just enough for me and my two pups. It is so close to the back river and kayak launch. Caught sunset each night at the launch area. I’ve never stayed in this area, but plan to do so again soon!

  I recently had a wonderful and restorative stay at A Little Salty” cottage. I left later than I meant to and got there after dark. I slept like a rock that night, The screened porch was my daily refuge where I breathed in the sweet salt air, read and did some watercolor painting. You are literally steps from the back river beach and Kayak Launch area at Alley 3. I met some great local residents down on the beach.
  
  I booked a half day inshore fishing trip and a Little Tybee Trip from Sundial Charter. Conveniently, their boats pick up down by the fishing pier, also a short walk from the cottage. I had a great time on my inshore fishing trip and Captain Tommy Williams hooked me up with some HUGE redfish, one about 30”, one 28” and a few other big ones we had to release. I did have one that was legal to keep and grilled it using Captain Tommy’s recipe. He calls it “redfish on the half shell” lol.
  
  Mermaid Cottages are always sparkling clean and the Mermaids provide incredible customer service. A huge thanks to Diane for her great kindnesses to me including when my car died as I left to go home and was stranded between Tybee and Savannah. I had to have the car towed and she made sure I had a place to stay while my car was repaired. Mermaid Jennifer even texted me to make sure I got home OK.
  
  I cooked most of meals there and enjoyed having a full kitchen. Oh and there is a great Weber charcoal grill where some cousins who also came to Tybee and I cooked some delicious filets one night.
  
  I cannot wait to come back!

  I enjoyed my stay at A Little Salty. The location was perfect, the price reasonable, and the porch great for social distancing! Noteworthy are the good quality pots and pans, and the stereo system!
