  When we opened the door to Pura Vida we were so impressed with "our house"! It was so clean, several new appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher) and just the overall feeling that this house has been well cared for between our visits from 2023 to 2024.
  The location in mid-island is perfect for us, just a two block walk to 12th or 13th street piers, a block away from the IGA and a nice stroll to all the happenings on the Strand.
  Tami is a top notch management rep, always available by phone with help or advice to all things Tybee.
  The snow flies today and it is cold in Ohio...can't wait to get back to Pura Vida!

  In Spanish, Pura Vida means “pure life.” This cottage truly lives up to its name. Prior to booking, we viewed 2 different sets of photos on the Mermaid's website. The video shows different decor than the pictures. The cottage had been redecorated and they could not have done a better job. We had stayed at another Mermaid property (Men's Mess Hall) before deciding to switch it up & are so grateful we did. We loved the screened porch & spent the majority of our time there, when not at the beach. The outdoor furniture is incredibly comfortable. The dishwasher, garbage disposal, washer & dryer are a huge plus. All electric appliances. Water takes awhile to get warm. Mermaid Cottages always deliver a wonderful vacation stay.

  This is our second year staying at Pura Vida, this year for six weeks. We have always found the appliances, bathrooms and laundry clean and in good working order. The furniture is sufficient for our stay.
  This year we felt the cleanliness of the floors and porch was subpar, and not once did any lawn service attend the outside lawn and bushes. Dead plants from the December hard frost were not addressed.
  We love many things about Pura Vida, but it seemed this year the top notch cleaning and care we have experienced before was lacking.

    Thank you for your feedback. Our Mermaid Guest Services spoke to you several times during your stay and this is the first we are hearing about you not being 100% satisfied with our home and your stay. If we had know you were not completely satisfied we would have done everything we needed to make you completely happy.... Regarding the outside- as you know, Tybee experienced a major frost for a few days which we haven't had in years. The plants could not be cut back until we see what survived and what didn't survive based on the freeze. That is why nothing was done with the plants- this was the recommendation of our professional landscaping company. We also don't do any lawn mowing during the winter months - that will start up again in late March. We know you're planning to return next year to stay at this terrific home, we hope you'll let Guest Services know immediately if you're not 100% thrilled with the home. Thank you.

  This house is a great house in a great location. The screened porch is the show stopper. The fenced in yard is a bonus.
  
  I only have a few negative things. I miss the window coverings on the doors. Especially the door that faces 2nd Avenue. I wasn’t comfortable sitting in the chair in the living room knowing everyone on the street could see me but I couldn’t see them. It would be nice if the second bedroom had at least one full bed and a twin instead of two twins. A tv would be a nice addition as well.

  Let me start by saying that the customer service side of this rental was the best we've ever had and we've stayed in ALOT of other rentals with other companies. When we made the reservation we had a dog. Sadly a couple months ago we lost our pup, when I let them know they took the pet fee's off of our rent. We also thought we may need to check in early and they were happy to accommodate however we ended up not getting into town until 4PM anyways. The house was perfect, clean and well stocked. Check in was simple and we can't wait to stay here or with Mermaid Cottages again.

Plenty of room in the kitchen and bathrooms and the screened in porch was a great place for naps, reading, and drinking one's morning coffee on a quiet and peaceful block.   Have stayed at Sea Largo 4 or 5 times and have always enjoyed my visit. There have been several renovations done over the years to improve the quality of the rental property. The location is one of the best on the island as far as convenience to beach, restaurants, grocery store, and other amenities. The best quality of the house is the wonderful screen porch on the front where you can enjoy the quiet neighborhood and watching the bikers and dog walkers on the bike route.   We had an excellent stay in Sea Largo, where our daughter, son-in-law, and 18-month old grandson joined us for a weekend. Mermaids kindly provided a bag of beach toys for Christopher, which he very much enjoyed, and we found it easy to cook and relax at the cottage. The kitchen is the best prepared I've seen, and the front porch, the deck built around a gorgeous live oak, and the comfortable living room all got a lot of use when we weren't out on the beach. The Mermaids provided superb service -- checked in before we left to make sure there was nothing more we needed, responded quickly to any communications, and made us feel very welcome. The property description is spot-on, and the location on 2nd Avenue is perfect for those who prefer a quiet street close to the beach.

  We recently spent a week at Tybee and stayed in this quaint little cottage. As usual, the Mermaids had it in top notch condition for our arrival on Sunday and checked with us on Monday to be sure everything was in order. The location is great and we enjoyed the screened porch and the deck for coffee in the mornings and cocktails in the evening. I would recommend this and any cottage that is managed by the Mermaids. We are repeat customers for over 20 years and hope for many more to come!

  Loved our stay at this charming cottage! It was our first visit to Tybee and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodations. The house is perfect for a couple or small family: clean, well-located and nicely furnished. Brought along our dog and although he was not allowed on the beach, there is a fenced in yard and plenty of places to walk in the neighborhood. Our favorite thing was relaxing on the screen porch with our morning coffee and watching the world go by! Will definitely return!

  My husband and I spent 3 nights here with our dog, and it was overall a great place to stay.
  Pros: Walkable to lots of shops and restaurants and the beach; fantastic covered front porch to relax and watch people pass by; kitchen was fairly well stocked; communication with management company was quick and easy.
  Cons: It wasn't as clean as I would have liked; the master bed is VERY uncomfortable; the master bath shower was very small (you can use the secondary shower instead); appliances are older; house is wedged up against a large oak tree that drops acorns all day/night onto the metal roof, which can make sleeping more challenging.
  Pet info: We brought our 27lb dog, and she did great in the yard. The fence is pretty low (about thigh-high), and may not be suitable for a larger dog. All restaurants we visited with outdoor seating allowed dogs, which was great because we brought her with us everywhere we went. However, dogs are NOT allowed on the beach.

  We joined a group of eight (including us) for 5 1/2 days of kayaking off and near Tybee island. Because of Covid-19, we opted not to all stay together in one house. Sea Largo has an outdoor shower with warm water and hooks (to hang things) as well as an enclosed front porch so we had lots of space for our wet gear. To get saltwater out of our clothing, we used the washer and dryer every evening. Although we were in walking distance of the launch site called Alley 3, we left our car in the pay parking lot each day. Only downside - it was a banner year for acorns that fell continuously during our stay from the 100-year old live oak!

  Sea Largo was great- clean and cute and the perfect place to stay while getting some R&R on Tybee! Perfect size for three people and the location was ideal; on the "bike path' and close to the beach and boardwalk.
  
  The only complaint has nothing to do with the rental- a work crew at the house next door started making noise at 7:30 in the morning and power washed for hours in the afternoon, disturbing our time relaxing in the screened-in porch. But I guess that comes with visiting during the off-season when houses are being prepped for summer.
  
  Regardless, we would definitely return! Our mermaid, Denise, was very helpful and answered my inquiries promptly.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation with our four-legged children to Tybee Island and the staff at Mermaid Cottages was very professional and helpful. The cottage comes fully stocked with linens and kitchenware and the IGA is just one block away. Just remember to bring bug spray since mosquitos are the official bird of Tybee Island. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time.

  We really enjoyed the home and the location. However it would’ve been nice to have more than only four towels to use. I live in Conway South Carolina and we actually have people that spray for mosquitoes and try to be preventative we couldn’t go outside for a minute and the mosquitoes were trying to carry us away. However I would recommend this location and this home. Loved everything else about it . The owner was awesome.

  We really enjoyed our stay in Sea Largo Cottage last week. It was well appointed, comfortable, and very clean. We experienced a maintenance issue while there and the Mermaids had the problem taken care of within 3 hours! (It would have taken 1-2 days at home.) Thank you Mermaids for always providing wonderful accommodations and service! We will see you again :)

  We liked the place and Tybee a lot. We had enough space and the management was really helpful and responded quickly. We came during a heat wave and so we could not use the place under the tree which is lovely. The house is near to the supermarket (5min by foot). It is quiet and not far from the beach. Best thing: We did not need the car during our vacation.

  This cottage was perfect for our family vacation. The location is simply unbeatable! It's 2 blocks from the beach and a few blocks from the more lively Tybee pier and pavilion. You can also walk to the local grocery store which is helpful because parking is limited. The cottage itself is well maintained and is the perfect size for a couple or small family. We spent a lot of our time on the screened in porch but there's also an outdoor seating area, as well. I highly recommend staying here!

  We loved this cozy cottage! As soon as you walked in it felt comfortable, from the soft music playing to the great arrangement.
  
  We like to prepare some of our meals, and the kitchen provides everthing you could need. It’s just the perfect size to work in and there was even complimentary coffee provided.
  
  We enjoyed the screen porch and spent quite a bit of time sitting out there while the puppies enjoyed the fenced yard.

  Our first time staying on Tybee while visiting Savannah. What a lovely cottage we had. Great communication and follow up came from Mermaid Cottages before, during and after our stay. This 2 bed, 2 ba stand alone home was perfect size for 4 of us plus our dogs. I wanted more down time just to sit on the screened in porch. My only challenge would be wanting a king size bed in the master. Great small yard, fenced property, washer/dryer.Tybee was lovely to walk the dogs. Visitors and residents were friendly. I'm coming here again!!

  From the moment we entered Sea Largo with the soft music playing from the TV to morning coffee on the screen porch to the evening cocktails on the side deck...everything was fabulous. The cottage is adorable and clean as a whistle! The Mermaids checked on us to see if everything was ok. It’s in a great location for walking to restaurants.   The Sea Largo Cottage was the perfect rental for our family of 4! We stayed for a week while on Tybee Island and loved the screened in front porch where we played games every night! The shaded area under the trees was the perfect spot for my morning coffee! The house had everything we needed including a washer and dryer, grill, and an outdoor shower.   Love this cottage and have stayed here several years. This is the first visit since the inside was remodeled. Great 2nd bath. Terrible bed, way too small and a footboard that wacks ankles. Light switches don't work in master bedroom.

  Two seniors in their 70's and two of their granddaughters (ages 17 and 18) were blessed to spend 4 days in the Sea Largo Cottage of the Mermaid Cottages. It was exactly as described, within walking distance of the beach and everything. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions quickly. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. We ate at Frannie's on the beach and Huck a Poo's Pizza. Both very different from our usual fair, but both equally delicious and enjoyable. On the way to Tybee Island we stopped in Savannah and enjoyed a trolley tour, it was lovely. I would love to go back and will certainly recommend it to all my friends.
