Ground level cottage ideal for families with children or seniors who don't like stairs!

Pet-friendly with fenced-in yard - multiple pets welcome! Across the street from one of our other cottages, Seawinns! Perfect for two families who want to be close! Large screened porch as well as outdoor deck under a 200 year old Live Oak tree! Outdoor shower for washing off the beach!

2 cozy bedrooms and 2 bathrooms make this a perfect cottage for a small family or group ~one bedroom has a queen bed and the other has 2 twin beds.

3 short blocks from the 12th Street beach, short walk to shops and restaurants. 2nd Avenue is the main bike street on Tybee and perfect for family bike rides.

We especially welcome teachers - both active and retired! We are proud to offer an educators discount! Let us know at time of booking if you are a teacher. We also offer discounts for military (active & retired), AAA and AARP members.

  Loved our stay at this charming cottage! It was our first visit to Tybee and could not have been happier with our choice of accommodations. The house is perfect for a couple or small family: clean, well-located and nicely furnished. Brought along our dog and although he was not allowed on the beach, there is a fenced in yard and plenty of places to walk in the neighborhood. Our favorite thing was relaxing on the screen porch with our morning coffee and watching the world go by! Will definitely return!

  We had a great week at Sea Largo. The house was the perfect size for our family of four. When we arrived the house was spotless. The location on the bike route was wonderful for watching bikes cruise by in the mornings and evenings, and it was a quick walk to the beach. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone.

  My husband and I spent 3 nights here with our dog, and it was overall a great place to stay.
  Pros: Walkable to lots of shops and restaurants and the beach; fantastic covered front porch to relax and watch people pass by; kitchen was fairly well stocked; communication with management company was quick and easy.
  Cons: It wasn't as clean as I would have liked; the master bed is VERY uncomfortable; the master bath shower was very small (you can use the secondary shower instead); appliances are older; house is wedged up against a large oak tree that drops acorns all day/night onto the metal roof, which can make sleeping more challenging.
  Pet info: We brought our 27lb dog, and she did great in the yard. The fence is pretty low (about thigh-high), and may not be suitable for a larger dog. All restaurants we visited with outdoor seating allowed dogs, which was great because we brought her with us everywhere we went. However, dogs are NOT allowed on the beach.

  We joined a group of eight (including us) for 5 1/2 days of kayaking off and near Tybee island. Because of Covid-19, we opted not to all stay together in one house. Sea Largo has an outdoor shower with warm water and hooks (to hang things) as well as an enclosed front porch so we had lots of space for our wet gear. To get saltwater out of our clothing, we used the washer and dryer every evening. Although we were in walking distance of the launch site called Alley 3, we left our car in the pay parking lot each day. Only downside - it was a banner year for acorns that fell continuously during our stay from the 100-year old live oak!

  Sea Largo was everything we wanted and more!! The house was adorable, clean, and spacious. The fenced in yard was wonderful for my 3 dogs. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything you need to cook a large or small meal. The location is perfect, easy to walk or ride bikes anyplace you want to go. The street is quiet. We loved the screened in front porch as well as the beautiful deck. We spent mornings and evenings on them. The Diane and Jennifer with Mermaid Cottages we’re both incredibly sweet and helpful.   Sea Largo was great- clean and cute and the perfect place to stay while getting some R&R on Tybee! Perfect size for three people and the location was ideal; on the "bike path' and close to the beach and boardwalk.
  
  The only complaint has nothing to do with the rental- a work crew at the house next door started making noise at 7:30 in the morning and power washed for hours in the afternoon, disturbing our time relaxing in the screened-in porch. But I guess that comes with visiting during the off-season when houses are being prepped for summer.
  
  Regardless, we would definitely return! Our mermaid, Denise, was very helpful and answered my inquiries promptly.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation with our four-legged children to Tybee Island and the staff at Mermaid Cottages was very professional and helpful. The cottage comes fully stocked with linens and kitchenware and the IGA is just one block away. Just remember to bring bug spray since mosquitos are the official bird of Tybee Island. The only downside is that dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time.

  We really enjoyed the home and the location. However it would’ve been nice to have more than only four towels to use. I live in Conway South Carolina and we actually have people that spray for mosquitoes and try to be preventative we couldn’t go outside for a minute and the mosquitoes were trying to carry us away. However I would recommend this location and this home. Loved everything else about it . The owner was awesome.

  We liked the place and Tybee a lot. We had enough space and the management was really helpful and responded quickly. We came during a heat wave and so we could not use the place under the tree which is lovely. The house is near to the supermarket (5min by foot). It is quiet and not far from the beach. Best thing: We did not need the car during our vacation.

  This cottage was perfect for our family vacation. The location is simply unbeatable! It's 2 blocks from the beach and a few blocks from the more lively Tybee pier and pavilion. You can also walk to the local grocery store which is helpful because parking is limited. The cottage itself is well maintained and is the perfect size for a couple or small family. We spent a lot of our time on the screened in porch but there's also an outdoor seating area, as well. I highly recommend staying here!

  We loved this cozy cottage! As soon as you walked in it felt comfortable, from the soft music playing to the great arrangement.
  
  We like to prepare some of our meals, and the kitchen provides everthing you could need. It’s just the perfect size to work in and there was even complimentary coffee provided.
  
  We enjoyed the screen porch and spent quite a bit of time sitting out there while the puppies enjoyed the fenced yard.

  Our first time staying on Tybee while visiting Savannah. What a lovely cottage we had. Great communication and follow up came from Mermaid Cottages before, during and after our stay. This 2 bed, 2 ba stand alone home was perfect size for 4 of us plus our dogs. I wanted more down time just to sit on the screened in porch. My only challenge would be wanting a king size bed in the master. Great small yard, fenced property, washer/dryer.Tybee was lovely to walk the dogs. Visitors and residents were friendly. I'm coming here again!!

  Two seniors in their 70's and two of their granddaughters (ages 17 and 18) were blessed to spend 4 days in the Sea Largo Cottage of the Mermaid Cottages. It was exactly as described, within walking distance of the beach and everything. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions quickly. The cottage was very clean and well maintained. We ate at Frannie's on the beach and Huck a Poo's Pizza. Both very different from our usual fair, but both equally delicious and enjoyable. On the way to Tybee Island we stopped in Savannah and enjoyed a trolley tour, it was lovely. I would love to go back and will certainly recommend it to all my friends.

  Our experience at Sea Largo during January 2018 provided a welcome opportunity to again enjoy the unique Tybee ambience. Weather did not cooperate at first. We learned not to rent in early January next time! Sea Largo was cozy,clean, and comfortable. However, the cottage Sea was short on silverware, sink water was too slow to heat so we didn't use dishwasher, ice maker was broken, kitchen flooring was coming loose in one spot, and outdoor grill top didn't fit. Ongoing problems with getting owner's permission to rent more than one DVD required several phone calls to address. Nevertheless, we found our stay enjoyable and the services of the Mermaids reliable.

  We were so blessed to spend three days on Tybee which turned out to be one of the coldest weekends. The warmth displayed by the Tybee residents made it a cozy and wonderful experience. The shops are unique and the island coffee is amazing. Don't leave without buying some to take home. While we were there the Tybee residents had a Christmas parade of golf carts and bicycles. What fun and comradery. We then ate at AJ's dockside and enjoyed a wonderful bluegrass band. Everyone in the place made us feel like family. You don't meet a stranger on this island and there is so much to see and do. I can't wait to come back next year. Thank you to Diane and her staff at Mermaid Cottage for making this another fantastic stay. Our Mermaid Cottage was beautiful and decorated with the Coastal theme and colors and we just love it. It is also very close to Savannah and when we checked out, we spent the day at Savannah before heading home. It was sweet sorrows to leave.

  We loved the cottage it was perfect. Harley my dog also loved having the fenced in yard to run around in, it was perfect. Just a warning to others, we swan at the beach off of 12th street and there were no lifeguards or warning flags displayed, We got caught in a rip current and almost drowned, I'd reccommend only swimming in areas were there are lifeguards.

Remember, let them pull you out (don't struggle, they don't pull you under) and once you feel them release swim parallel to the beach for a minute, then turn into shore.   A perfect place for 2-4 people. My elderly mother with limited mobility was fine here. Front porch is fabulous. All amenities were in place and the house was sparkling clean. The side deck with outdoor shower is also great. Sincerely had tears in my eyes upon leaving. Would love to come back soon

  We loved this cottage. Nice porch and deck, great outdoor shower right next to the side entrance, and two really nice restrooms. No dvd player, and fewer towels than usuak, but the laundry room was great. We lover the decor and the neighborhood. One of our best years at Tybee.

  My husband and newborn spent a long weekend at Sea Largo and had a perfect stay! We spent out days at the beach and our evenings relaxing on the screened in porch. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would possibly need, and on the nights we didn't feel like cooking we took the short walk to AJ's.   I have been to Tybee many times and have stayed in various places. I have to say this cottage was the most relaxing, inviting and peaceful place I have ever stayed. They thought of every detail. Cottage was stocked with everything we needed and they even checked in with us the day before to make sure we had all the info we needed.   The cottage had been renovated from top to bottom. The furniture is very attractive and comfortable. The best part about relaxing there is the great screened in porch with comfy furniture. The only minor thing we noticed was that the carport and wooden deck had not been cleaned off from the overhanging tree debris which was plentiful and it stuck to everything and got tracked into the cottage and screen porch and car. The location was quiet, short walk to beach and grocery store, and we felt safe. Also, everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful if we needed it. Tybee is a wonderful place to vacation, and Mermaid is the best!

The cottage was adorable and had a second bathroom which was not listed on the site so that was a wonderful surprise. It has also been redone and was wonderfully decorated.   This cottage was perfect for four "Girlfriends" whose week vacation turned into 4 days and we lost our original location because of a hurricane. Mermaid Cottages came to our rescue with this sweet cottage. It was clean, nicely decorated and had all the basic needs we could ask for - especially a screen porch with comfortable furniture. Also easy walking distance to the beach! They have plenty of parking too, something some places at Tybee do not have. They were extremely nice to work with.

  The house is very cute and certainly spacious enough for two or three people. Kitchen was fantastic. Living room furniture is sparse, so it would be hard to have any kind of gathering. The bathtub needs a plumber to look at it, doesn't drain when you shower.

  We had a great time on our trip. The place was extremely clean and taken care of. Our only issue was that the pictures show the house with 2 couches. When we got there, there was only one couch and 2 dining room chairs. Not everyone could sit down comfortably. Also, there is no hammock like advertised. On the other hand, we loved the screen in porch. We spent a lot of time out there because there was more seating, and we could use our folding chairs. Overall, a great place.
