A completely renovated duplex! A building that started out as quarters used for soldiers during the Spanish-American War, this duplex is directly behind Officer’s Row and has another Mermaid Cottages’ property, Enlisted Men’s Mess Hall/Screened Inn duplex, as a next-door neighbor!
This beautiful duplex has been lovingly renovated and is bright, colorful and a showcase of unique beach cottage renovation and décor style!
Cottage on the Green B –
Cottage on the Green B is the attached duplex in the rear of the duplex building. It features an entry through a screened porch which is beautifully furnished. Cottage on the Green B is different and unique with its own charming vintage details. Entry is into the open living/dining/kitchen area. You will be struck by the fun vintage signage over the dining table and the wonderful living area with huge paned windows that surround this space and bathe it in natural light! Living area features a flatscreen TV. Dining area has seating for 4 and the kitchen features open shelving, a farm-type sink and more beautiful lighting from Barnlight Electric similar to Cottage on the Green A. You will find original local art throughout this duplex. The half bath, like Cottage on the Green A, is charming with the use of original siding boards from the pre-renovation duplex walls to line the half bath giving it that wonderful vintage uniqueness that makes these 2 spaces so special! Cottage on the Green B has 2 bedrooms; one with 2 twin beds and ensuite full bathroom and one with a queen bed with flatscreen TV.
Also, as an added bonus, Cottage on the Green B features a sleeping porch (accessible through the queen bedroom) on the rear of the cottage complete with queen-size bed. Perfect spot to grab a nap after a day at the beach, get lost in a good book or sleep here during the cool nights of spring and fall! NOTE: This is an exterior screened porch; has curtains but no walls; no heat or A/C.
For families or groups of friends, these 2 duplexes would be a perfect space! Rent both and have 4 bedrooms and 2 full and 2 half baths, 2 living spaces, 2 kitchens, 2 screened porches, and a wonderful sleeping porch! Would sleep 8 (not including the sleeping porch!) Plenty of space to accommodate multi-family or group of friends traveling together!
Outdoor shower accessible from indoors through the full bath offers hot & cold water; perfect for showering off the beach sand and salt water before heading inside! Also accessible from outside.
Complimentary off-street parking for 2 vehicles.

  I spent two days on Tybee Island and stayed in the delightful Cottage on the Green "B". The property was charming and meticulously maintained. The communications from the rental agent prior to my arrival were clear and provided all of the information I needed. The bedding in the cottage was very comfortable and there were plenty of towels. The kitchen was well-equipped and both it and the bathrooms were spotless. Although the footprint of the cottage is small, it doesn't feel small at all because there are so many beautiful spaces to curl up in including the front porch, sitting room and rear sleeping porch. I would highly recommend both this rental and Mermaid Cottages.

  This vacation ended up being a reunion with my adult kids. My west coast kids came from Portland and my daughter from Memphis, TN as well as myself from Midland, MI. This is the first time I tried this and it worked so well that we're going to do it again next year on the west coast. The cottage was so very charming and vintage. Right up my alley and when we discovered our short walk to the beach, the fort and lighthouse as well as the little restaurant we were so elated. It was perfect for us. Thank you again for how clean the cottage was and the beds were so comfortable as well. We also squeezed in a lot of sightseeing and historical tours and loved every minute of it.   We really enjoyed our stay at Cottage on the Green B. It was just such a quaint, lovely cottage! It was clean, nicely appointed and stocked with just what we needed. We were in the area at the end of an incredible heat wave, yet we enjoyed the screened in porch with fan and sat out there in the evenings. The bed was very comfortable and the décor, fixtures, appliances - everything was in great order. We didn't have any contact with anyone from Mermaid Cottages during our visit - only because everything was fine, there were no problems, and we didn't need a thing!

  I absolutely loved the location & vibe of the cottage the moment I saw it online. The location was fantastic! The decor & vintage beach vibe fit my personality perfect. I choose Cottage on the Green "B" to celebrate my birthday & spend time before & after wedding. We were able to enjoy my birthday & had full kitchen to prepare the birthday dinner. It was nice having everything we needed in the cottage & was a perfect home away from home. The beds were beautiful & super comfy. Also the cottage was about a 6 to 7 minute walk to the beach which was where we got married & had the reception. I loved the easy access of to everything on North Beach. We even discovered that we were close to the Tybee pirate which was super cool after the reception we met him on the way back to the cottage.
  Overall we had a great experience. The only downside of our visit was the broken glass pane on the door. I received a phone call the day before our stay to inform us about the glass pane. The pane wouldn't be able to replaced till Thurs & our stay was Tue to Thur which was a bit if a bummer. Mermaid cottages offered to move us over to cottage A but I declined. I decided on B because it was my dream place to spend my birthday with my family & get ready for the wedding.

  The cottage was easy to get in to at our convenience with the key in the lock box (brilliant) and was spotless! The decorator is a master my sister and I were like children as we showed each other all of the cute details! The sleeping porch bed with the chandelier (gasp!) was a treat! The location was quiet and we didn't even hear the other guests that rented "A"! Everything we needed was in the kitchen and even the towels were cute! Complimentary coffee, filters, and soap was nice to get us started as well! What an amazing place! I would (and have) recommend it to anyone who would like a beautiful place to undwind and relax! We also loved the walking distance to the Northside Grill by the lighthouse! All of that AND the beach within walking 2 minutes! Perfect, just perfect!

  This trip was a retirement trip from my boss. It was a dream vacation and the Cottage on the Green was sooo delightful!!! I read a book on the screen porch with the darling bed that looked onto the golf course. It was so relaxing and cozy there. I walked to the beach a lot and looked at all the wonderful history of the lighthouse and Ft Screvin. The bed was very comfortable with tv & wifi when you need those conveniences. The vintage touches along with the modern style was the perfect blend. I hope to visit here again! Such an awesome experience that I kept saying, "Pinch me, I am dreaming!"   This cottage is so charming and lovely that I hate to let other people know about it! It is in a very good location, within blocks of North Beach and the Tybee Light Station. Tybee Island is lovely in October and we had a great time. The mermaid staff were very interested in our having the best stay and checked in on us while we were there. Plenty of room for 3-4. Very affordable and I would love to return and stay in this fantastic cottage with fantastic staff again.

Our grandsons were right at home in the airy cottage with all the amenities provided. Jan was delightful as we made our plans, and she accommodated our traveling times. Thank you so much, Jan!

  We had a great time here. The outdoor shower and sleeping porch made it special. I get bored of typical hotel rooms so this place was great. Its in walking distance to the light house and beach which was convenient.
