A charming vintage cottage and getaway.

Pets welcome (they'll enjoy the fenced yard) and a 10 minute walk to the North Beach via Solomon Avenue. Complimentary WiFi, garden seating. Downstairs, Rose's Folie offers 2 bedrooms each with 1 queen bed.
There is also a full bathroom downstairs. The 2nd floor offers a 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds as well as a full bath with tub (no shower).
There are TVs in living room and all bedrooms. All TVs are cable-connected EXCEPT THE UPSTAIRS TV. UPSTAIRS TV IS SMART TV/NO CABLE. Rose's Folie is full of wonderful original art and unique touches.

North Campbell is next to Chu's Convenience and the golf cart rental. The Historic Tybee Guard House - ideal for weddings and special occasions- is 1 block away, as is JC Park for the kids to play! The Tybee Lighthouse and Museum are an easy walk as well.

Please note- the location is residential, however being so close to the restaurants and North End business district also means that during busy summer weekends and weeks, you are closer to traffic and noise. If you are looking for an extremely quiet location- this is not the location. If you are looking to be more in the heart of activity and close to restaurants and services, then this is the location for you! Let us know if you need us to clarify the restaurants and shops that are close to the cottage.

  In anticipation of a long awaited vacation to our favorite happy place we contacted a rental company we had used multiple times previously and did NOT even get a call back. We reached out to Mermaid Cottages. MC was wonderful to work with—eager to work with our time frame and budget. They found a perfect cottage for us! A lovely, quaint, and charming cottage with all of the everyday conveniences. Great communication from the start keeping us in the loop—they even called us to say the house was ready prior to the normal check-in! Their attention to detail is beyond measure...they left a thoughtful, handwritten note and gift in celebration of a recent retirement! MC was quick to respond to a very small glitch (coffee maker would not work)—a new one was delivered to the house quickly! We are already planning our next stay and will DEFINITELY have MC find the perfect cottage for us again. MC treated us like family and made our stay feel like home! We LOVE Mermaid Cottages!!

  Lovely well kept! Super super clean Everything working great. Ac was wonderful and plenty of hot water loved the fridge. They supply you with perc coffee and it is superb I bought two bags at the sisters nearby gift shop there is a convenience store gas station and a nice breakfast place next to that called Dawgs. The crepes are outstanding. It’s also a nice bar and had live music Thursday night. Happy hour the drinks are like half price 4 to 7. Very convenient to everything Pet friendly. My boy Poochie approved lol

  The three of us ladies had a great time during our visit to Tybee. The house was as described and was perfect for our stay. The fenced yard was nice for our dog. The beach is within walking distance to the less crowed north beach where we spent our time. It is a busy street, but that did not bother us. Communication with management was great. Questions were answered immediately, and they texted prior to and during our stay to make sure all was well. I would stay here again if I return to Tybee.   Our stay was wonderful! The overall air conditioning was great with a brand new kitchen and very clean and homey ambiance. We enjoyed the house and its location greatly as it was a 10 minute walk to the lighthouse and north beach shoppes and around the corner from a good restaurant - Cockspur Grill (named after the old lighthouse in the Savannah river). Tammy was very attentive and helpful and made sure everything was to our liking.

  Quaint cute cottage but had hazard steps to second floor so we had to move mattress down on first floor so we wouldn’t fall down steps. Close to everything! But noisy road to sleep. Cottage was accommodating and Tammy was very attentive.

  Our stay was just what we needed. The property management was very responsive and met our needs. The house was recently painted which made the house look great. We were disappointed that the windows didn't open but we got fresh air with the screen door on the front of the house. The property is old but has lots of character, the upstairs bedroom needs some attention. The houses interior certainly tells a story but it was easy to make it our home away from home. Looking forward to staying at Rose's again! The Corkspur Grill next door was a blast with live music as well as delicious food and cocktails. North Beach bar and grill was a fun place for lunch and it is right next to the Tybee Marine Science Center and our granddaughter loved it!!

  We always have a fantastic experience renting from Mermaid Cottages! Rose's Folie is such a sweet little cottage, full of character! It had everything we needed for vacation. My advice - read the description of the cottage thoroughly to make sure it fits your needs - the Mermaids are great at giving details to help you decide. The location is on a fairly busy street (busy for Tybee Island), so if you want more quiet, chose a house that is tucked away a bit more. This was just fine for us, and exactly what we expected. The upstairs is not counted as part of the rental (I believe it gets too hot in the summer) but we visited in November and it was a perfect little nook for my teenage son to have to himself! Fenced in yard was perfect for my dogs, and the outdoor spaces were great -even though it's on a busy-ish street you can sit outside and feel like you have some privacy. Plenty of places to eat in walking distance, as well as our favorite morning spot, Tybeen Coffee. We rented a golf cart this time, which was a fun way to get around the island (get a gas powered cart if you stay at this house, no plug in outside for electric). Can't wait until our next stay at Tybee with the Mermaids! Thank you!!

  We had a few tiny problems which were handled quickly.
  1. Had trouble with the lockbox. Judy tried to walk us thru it on the phone to no avail. She came over, opened and we were in!
  2. Had trouble with downstairs toilet handle. Judys husband came over that afternoon and took care of it. Ice maker was frozen up and he took care of that also .
  3. Air condition upstairs stopped working also outlets in the living room. Once again Judys husband took care of us. He was our hero.
  4. Had trouble with WiFi connection. Thanks to Michael Bodine for so patiently helping me reconnect while in Dallas airport.

  I recently stayed one night at Rose’s Folie Cottage as I had another cottage rented and couldn’t get into it until the next day. The Mermaids kindly let me rent it for one night. I arrived a lot later than I thought, about 9:30, so exhausted. I found the cottage easily and it was spotless. Lamps were lit, soft music was playing on the TV, and it was a welcome feeling to open the door and see how cute it was! The cottage has some cookbooks in the kitchen and one of them made my mouth water with all of its seafood recipes. I think it was called Savannah’s Classic Seafood Recipes. (I ordered it from Amazon,). Although I didn’t have much time in the cottage, it is so roomy and cute. I checkout out the kitchen and it looked like it had enough pans and equipment so you can cook your meals easily. While this is on the North end of the island and I have a soft spot for the South end, this would be a great place to add to your list of cottages to stay in.

  Pros - Well maintained home, Nicely decorated in keeping with the style of home. Comfortable beds, Well equipped kitchen, The AC functioned well (Thank God because it was very warm that week!)
  It was pet friendly, so we were able to bring our dog.
  We had a very good restaurant next door, 80 East Gastro Pub. As busy as the island restaurants were, it was nice to be able to avoid parking issues and walk next door to eat.
  The management company was great to work with.
  
  Cons - Our 2 daughters that were sleeping in the upstairs bathroom did not like using the upstairs shower, because they had to sit in the bath tub to shower due to slope of the ceiling.
  We brought our dog thinking that we would make use of the fenced in yard, but we ended up not using that feature because it was fenced in to the front side of home, but all the seating and leisure area of home was on the back side on home that wasn't fenced in.
  The key lock box was very difficult to close after using the key.
  Lastly - The stove top burners were a little difficult to cook on. They tended to be all or nothing when it came to the heat settings.
  
  Overall we felt it was a very good value for money spent, and would definitely stay there again.

  Our time at Rose's Folie was our first trip to Tybee Island, but surely won't be our last. We had a wonderful time. The Mermaids were wonderful hostesses and the cottage was charming and well equipped. This cottage was great for a first time stay as it was right in the middle of a lot of action. A really great neighborhood for walking and an easy walk to the beach and the lighthouse. My only caution, is the same caution the Mermaids give. If you are looking for quiet, choose a different Mermaid Cottage. If you want to be where the action is, this lovely little cottage is for you. Try it, you'll love Tybee Island.

  We had a WONDERFUL experience with Mermaid Rentals. We purchased this vacation rental for my mother's birthday, but a hurricane delayed our stay. The Mermaids worked with us to get us rescheduled, and provided us a discount given I am a teacher! I can't express how happy we were with the accommodations, the provided kitchen items because we stayed over Thanksgiving, and the close access to the beach. The Mermaids maintained regular communication with us throughout our visit, and we were so comfy in Rose's Folie! I would return to stay with the Mermaids again and most certainly would recommend Rose's Folie!

  Not my favorite cottage! First, the yard is a complete mess creating a less than desirable curb appeal and first impression. It's listed as a 2 bath, however, the ceiling in the second shower is slanted and even my daughter who is only 5ft tall couldn't stand up in it and had to sit on the floor to shower. If you do use the shower, beware, it could drip into the dining room if any of the water leaks out. This is misleading and should be listed as a 1.5 bath. The upstairs is very cute otherwise. Rose's Folie could definitely benefit from new couches and new paint as it is falling off the ceiling in the bedrooms. Last, the location is very close to the main road so it's loud and difficult to back out of the driveway. I've had great experiences with Mermaid Cottages but this rental was disappointing.

  The cottage was decorated with many awesome vintage pieces giving it a great vibe. There is not a lot of privacy between the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms. The upstairs bathroom is limited by the pitch of the roof and any adult trying to shower up there cannot even stand up.
  Even with the shortcomings of an old historic home, it was a fun little place. I'd stay there again.

  This home is in a great location, close to the beach and shopping. It is also just a short drive to Savannah. The house itself was clean, nicely decorated (maybe a little too decorated).   Rose's Folie circa 1939 was just as lovely and charming as pictured...actually even more so. The upstairs suite is not nearly depicted as large and open as it is in actuality. All of us had a marvelous time. We ate too much, talked too much, laughed way too much and enjoyed tremendous seafood every day! We all slept like babies and woke to a lovely cottage full of light, laughter and good food....that's what happens when Ladies of a Certain Age get together! LOL!!!

  We stayed at Rose's as a family over our spring break. It was perfect. I loved how there was space for my daughters to play and sleep upstairs. They even had their own bathroom! Downstairs was nice and cozy and the beds slept well. Rose's was the perfect driving distance from Savannah where we enjoyed the hop on/off bus tour and Girl Scouts activities. We will defiantly be back to Mermaid cottages!

  We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rosie's Folie. It was very close to restaurants, shops and even a short walk to the beach. It has lots of cute decor sprinkled through the house, ample space for parking and a nice backyard and deck area to enjoy outside. Aside from the house, the company itself is amazing. They contacted me several times to keep me in the loop and always responded quickly if i needed anything. I even got a call once we got there asking how everything was and giving us a tip that there was a city wide yard sale going on! I would highly recommend this house and this company in general and will use them again for my next stay.

It was well equipped with everything we needed and the staff at Mermaid were really friendly.   We enjoyed our stay in this home, my kids were happy to just stay in versus always going out. Our complaints had nothing to do with the home, just with the location due to road work-but that couldn't be helped by anyone. Definitely suggest renting/bringing bikes, that was a highlight for everyone! I wish I had brought a swiffer though because sand is too hard to just sweep.

  My family fell in love with this adorable cottage the minute we stepped foot in her. She was very spacious, and the decorations were perfect. My kids LOVED the room upstairs. I felt so relaxed here, and didn't want to leave after our 5 day stay. During our stay, there was a severe storm, and Jennifer made sure that we had flashlights and candles just in case we lost power. The location is perfect. It is so close to the light house, beach, restaurants etc. We loved walking to the North beach and lighthouse daily. There are a lot of great restaurants close to the house as well. I suggest the Sugar Shack for ice cream, or Huc A Poos down the street for amazing pizza. Reserve here if you want a great cottage close to the action, but not in a super busy area of the town. You won't be disappointed!

  We enjoyed the house very much, all the decor, etc.
  Very comfortable. Only complaint is that we were told we'd have 2 rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom & a roll of paper towels, but we didn't. Each roll of tp had been used prior and not a new one. And the paper towel roll was almost empty!
  And wish we'd known ahead of time that all the restaurants & some of the stores close so early! We got there about 6 on Tues, unloaded our luggage, then took off exploring to see what all we could do while on the island, but found most everything already closed or about to close! So we had to go back to the cottage & just eat snacks that we had for our supper!! Never heard of restaurants closing at 6 or 7!! Then the next day we took trolley tour of Savannah & got back right at 4:30, which is when the Lighthouse & museum closes! So we missed that, too! Then we left early the next morning.
  We just struck out on the island everywhere we went!

  We always choose Mermaid Cottages when we stay on Tybee Island. This time, we stayed at Rose Folie Artist Cottage and we loved it. It is full of beach charm and super comfortable. Comfy beds too. The kitchen is well stocked and plenty of towels and stables are available. Rose's Folie is like staying at your hip artist grandma's beach cottage. Everywhere you look there is a creative and cool piece of art and decor, inside and out. On the last day I read the touching story of the house and previous owner in the guest book. It made me love it even more. I won't give away the story, but let you discover it too.
  
  The location of the house is next to a busy road to the north beach, but we really didn't notice it and it was peaceful and quite inside and at night. Our dog also felt right at home and we walked him every morning to the park. Having an outdoor hose and shower also made cleaning off sand a breeze. We brought our bikes with us as always. Tybee is very bike friendly.
  
  There are a lot of great restaurants on Tybee, but this visit our favorites were Fish Camp, Social Club, and Huckapoos. Best lobster roll and blood orange sangria ever at the Social Club. YUM! We also ventured to Wormsloe for the first time. The oak lane was gorgeous! We also stopped by the Savannah Bee main showroom to stock up on honey and lotion. All of our remaining time was spent relaxing on the beach and shore fishing as much as possible. Be sure to try and catch a sunrise or sunset on the beach during your time. This weekend was the Perseid meteor shower, so we watched it on the pier downtown. Luckily it was a clear night. Nothing better!

  We expected much more out of this cottage from the beautiful pictures displayed on the website. The yard and landscaping were kind of a mess. The ice maker and coffee maker weren't working. The decor was interesting, but it was clean. The home was in a great location, and we did not compare pricing with other locations similar in size so I don't know if this is considered inexpensive. But it's not a place I would jump at the chance to come back to.

  This cottage met my families needs perfectly. Rose's Folie was close to shops, restaurants and the beach. The cottage had a well stocked kitchen, which was nice, but we did not use it except for storing drinks in the fridge. The living room had comfortable sofas for watching television. The bedrooms on the first floor, both were comfy and the bathroom had plenty of towels. Heading upstairs was somewhat difficult to manage with luggage, but I survived it. The upstairs was a bit warm, even with the two air cooling units being used. Keeping an upper floor cool in an older home is difficult, so I was not too concerned about it. My wife, though opted to use one of the bedrooms on the first floor due to it being cooler. Having the Mermaid App was great. The messages and phone conversations with the Mermaids was much appreciated. The reservation process was easy and presented no problems. I was pleased to have stayed at this cottage and to have used the Mermaids. Can not wait to return and would definitely stay here again.

  Our son and future daughter in decided Savannah was the place to get married. My family does not travel. In fact We have not been to the beach in about 15 years. A friend told me about Tybee.   The cottage was perfect for 5 adults, one child and two dogs. We made Christmas dinner and a birthday dinner and found the kitchen to be very well-stocked and useful. The upstairs area is much bigger than would be indicated by the pictures. In front of the beds there's a section double the size pictured that is great for the kids to play or to set-up a pen for the dogs if you leave them at home. We however, never had to leave the dogs alone at home since we found Tybee and Savannah to be extremely dog-friendly. The front yard was perfect for my 18 and 25-lb dogs, they weren't able to fit through the fence so were well-confined. The staff were also very responsive to requests and questions. The only caveat is that the internet connection is slow, so people may want to keep that in mind if they need to use the internet to work or watch movies. Overall, a wonderful stay.

  After losing both our moms this year, Bob and I needed to have a really different Thanksgiving. Our daughter, son-in-law, and dog joined our dog and us on Tybee. Rose's Folie was a perfect location, the perfect size for us, and made for a holiday to remember. Very clean, plenty of towels, great layout. The only thing I would ask is there needs to be a comfy chair or rocker in the living room-my husband kept hogging one of the two sofas!

  Third stay in a Mermaid cottage and, as before, very clean and the Mermaids are ultra-responsive. Pluses: We like being on the North end, the living room furniture was comfy, the main bathroom OK. Eating area w/ cointer can seat seven or nine. Oh, and the lighting was good -- important! Plus found a good book to read.
  
  Minuses: Small and not-well-set-up kitchen, very VERY steep and funky stairs, and upstairs shower useless. Noisy street, but that's quickly disclosed on the Mermaid web site. Plus, beds downstairs not great. Door to outside sticks and tough to open. Whatever, we enjoyed our trip -- it IS in Tybee. Would not stay in this one again, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work well for someone else. Shorter people better than tall (two of us are 6'3" -- head-bumping hazards upstairs). House probably better suited to four people than six.

We shopped at the IGA down the street and I was able to prepare some of my family's favorite breakfasts and lunch making everyone feel at home. My daughter loved the upstairs. The collections and simple decor also made me feel right at home.

  Although we've used Mermaid before, this was our first experience with this property. It's a beautiful home and was perfect for us. The two downstairs bedrooms were both well appointed, and our boys loved the upstairs with the twin beds. The house was roomy enough that we didn't feel cramped at all the two nights my parents stayed with us as well. 10 minute walk to North Beach & Lighthouse. Beautiful, historic neighborhood with a park nearby. Close to the main road but with little to no noticeable road noise. We had a late request to stay an extra day and Mermaid went the extra mile to make sure they could accommodate us. If you're coming to Tybee and have pets, consider Rose's Folie. I will rent from Mermaid anytime we come to Tybee. Their service is absolutely top notch.

Weather was marginal for the wedding, but we were able to get into Savannah the next day. Also, this charming cottage is within walking distance of the N. Beach, which is well worth the visit. We went to the lighthouse and the fort and ate at the N. Beach Bar & Grill. Lovely beach town. Great accommodations!

  We were celebrating husbands 60th birthday. Spoke with Mermaid Brandy aka Tybee Go To Girl before arrival to have basket of munchies and refreshments for him at cottage upon arrival. She did excellent. The cottage is just off the main highway and the side street at the front of the cottage is busy. The front and side yard is fenced in and shaded. Great place for our two Miniature Schnauzers to roam. I liked the wind chimes and shade. The back yard is the most quite and private. Easy walking distance to convenience store. The kitchen and bath were clean and everything worked. Good supply of bath towels and wash cloths. Kitchen well stocked with utensils,plates,cookware, etc. The bed was very comfortable. We will be back to Tybee Island and will use Mermaid Cottages again.
